CREATIVE COLLABORATION: DEEPENING THE CONVERSATION

Bridging the disciplines of fine art and video performance, Cara Tomlinson and Sean Regan collaborate to produce both engaging artistic experiences and a fresh perspective on cross-disciplinary collaboration. Tomlinson's fine art expertise and Regan's video installation/performance artistry combine to produce compelling new experiences.

In their lecture, Tomlinson and Regan showcased both their individual work and collaborative products. Each related the challenges and perspectives enabled by cross-disciplinary creative collaboration and examined how collaboration produced deeper insights into their individual processes.

Tomlinson and Regan are nationally featured artists who have exhibited their works in respected and established galleries. Tomlinson is a gifted artist who has taught at Dartmouth, Carnegie Mellon, University of Iowa and University of Minnesota, and was recently hired by Lewis and Clark College to fill the professorship previously held by Phyllis Yes. Regan has taught at several colleges and universities, and shown his video/installation/performances in New York, Berlin, Dortmund, Chicago, Syracuse, and at Cincinnati Museum of Art.
