PORTLAND, OR, February 22, 2008—In the first of QUANGO’s four-part lecture series, Jon Wettersten explored communication across the languages of art, mathematics, programming, and music. A video and lecture transcript are available at www.quangoinc.com/bridges. An ongoing series blog and discussion can be found at www.quangoinc.com/bridges/blog.
CREATIVE PROCESS AS SEEN THROUGH CREATIVE LANGUAGE
Exploring his personal creative process and the delivery of ideas through the mediums of art, programming and mathematics, Wettersten spoke for just under an hour, sharing thoughts on music, programming and more. To illustrate the concept of art interpreted through different mediums, Wettersten performed a selection from Paganini on a violin and then “played” the same selection using in a program he had written. At the end of his talk, Wettersten accepted questions from the audience. A video of Wettersten’s talk and a lecture transcript are both available at www.quangoinc.com/bridges.

ABOUT CREATIVE BRIDGES

This is the underlying vision of Creative Bridges 2008, which brings a series of broadly-based guest lecturers to Portland, Oregon in early 2008. By deepening and contributing to an ongoing creative dialogue, QUANGO hopes to nurture the artistic and creative community in Portland and beyond. Archived presentation videos and lecture transcripts will be freely available at: www.quangoinc.com/bridges.
